Victoria Gatehouse is a scientist, award-winning poet and children’s writer. Her poems have been widely published in magazines and anthologies and her pamphlet The Mechanics of Love (Smith | Doorstop) was selected as a ‘Laureate’s Choice’ by Carol Ann Duffy. Victoria’s first poetry collection, The Hawthorn Bride, a personal response to local Yorkshire landscapes and an exploration of the folklore relating to Ogham trees and shrubs, is published by Indigo Dreams Press. Her debut for children, Aardvark Day, a celebration of plants, animals, and the natural world, was published by The Emma Press in May 2026.
